Megalith Communications is the senior-led, editorially-minded firm translating complex strategy into market-shaping stories — the partner VPs of Communications turn to when the message cannot afford to be misunderstood.
Megalith was founded in 2014 by two practitioners who had spent the previous decade arguing, in print and in boardrooms, that the same sentence could not simultaneously win a regulator and a front-page journalist.
Catherine Holloway arrived from a decade as a B2B technology editor, where she had watched a generation of well-funded companies fail to explain themselves to the people who mattered most — analysts, trade press, the buyers whose diligence cycles they could not see. Marcus Reeve arrived from a decade of crisis communications, where he had learned, in real time, what a single unguarded paragraph could do to a market cap.
They opened a four-desk office on Spear Street with a thesis: a category-defining brand needs a narrative infrastructure — not a press release schedule. Ten years later, that thesis is the operating principle behind every engagement the firm accepts.
A skim-grade chronology. The dates below are all publicly verifiable; the references are on file with the firm's research desk.
Holloway and Reeve open the firm's first office in San Francisco with eight clients and a single, editorially-trained bench.
The firm receives International Communications Consultancy Organisation accreditation and opens two new full-service offices; the senior bench crosses twenty-five.
Megalith publishes the industry's first open-source narrative benchmarking dataset. It is now used by 1,800+ in-house comms teams and cited by Harvard Business Review.
The firm is named Agency of the Year — B2B Technology by PRWeek, with Singapore opening as the fourth full-service office the same quarter.
Megalith's 40-person senior team is organized into four specialized practice groups, each led by a named partner with 10+ years of in-category experience.

In 2022, Megalith published the communications industry's first open-source narrative benchmarking dataset — a structured corpus of how category-defining B2B brands have positioned themselves across media cycles since 2014.
The dataset is now in use by more than 1,800 in-house communications teams, and was cited in 2023 by Harvard Business Review as a reference for measuring narrative consistency. It is, in plain terms, the reason a Megalith engagement begins from a benchmark rather than from an opinion.
Since 2017, the firm has also held continuous accreditation from the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) — the global trade body's standards-based review of agency operations, ethics, and senior-bench composition.
